ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 52,308 with 94 more people testing positive for the infection, a senior health department official said here Tuesday.

The death toll in the frontier State remained at 259, as no casualty was reported in the northeastern state in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The Capital Complex Region recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 19, followed by Papumpare (11), nine each from East Siang and Lohit, seven each from Upper Siang and Lower Dibang Valley, four each from West Kameng Lower Subansiri and Tawang, three each from Leparada and Upper Subansiri, two each from Namsai, Lower Siang, Kamle and Dibang Valley district, the official said. One each fresh cases was also reported from Anjaw, Changlang, East Kameng, Pakke Kessang, Tirap and West Siang district respectively, the SSO said. The active cases in the State now stand at 1,162, he said.
