Arunachal Pradesh Receives a Consignment of 11 Oxygen Concentrators from Tata Trusts: Pema Khandu

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday announced that the state received a consignment of 11 oxygen concentrators from Tata Trusts, which will be handed over to State Health Society, Naharlagun.

He took to Twitter for the announcement about the information, saying he is thankful to Tata Trusts for reaching out to support fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. He tweeted, "Received a consignment of 11 oxygen concentrator from @tatatrusts today, which will be handed over to State Health Society, Naharlagun. Immensely thankful to Tata Trust for reaching out again to support us in our fight against the #coronavirus pandemic."

In March 2020, Tata Trusts announced an amount of Rs 500 crore to fight the COVID-19 pandemic raging around the world. Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan Tata said that the COVID situation in India and across the world was of grave concern and needed immediate action.

Ratan Tata said, "In this exceptionally difficult period, I believe that urgent emergency resources need to be deployed to cope with the needs of fighting the COVID-19 crisis, which is one of the toughest challenges the human race will face." He also said that Tata Trusts, Tata Sons, and Tata Group companies are joined by committed local and global partners and the government to fight this crisis on a united public health collaboration platform which will strive to reach sections that are underprivileged and deprived.

In the same year, Tata Trusts also donated 1,050 KN95 masks, 200 non-sterile medical protective clothing, 200 sterile medical protective clothing, 200 medical goggles, and 450 non-sterile PPE shoe covers to Rama Krishna Mission Hospital (RKMH) in Arunachal Pradesh. The equipment was handed over by Dr Kesang Yeshi Tukshipa of the North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) – an associate organization of the Tata Trusts, to Swami Vishweshananda of the RKMH.

On Wednesday, Arunachal Pradesh has recorded 30,000 caseloads as 304 more people tested positive COVID-19.
