
ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh has seen a 0.99 percent rise in its voter count compared to the previous year’s final electoral rolls, officials announced on Monday.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu, in a statement, said, “According to the final electoral rolls 2025, there has been an overall increase of 0.99 percent in the number of electors compared to last year’s records.”
The state now has a total of 8,91,518 electors, comprising 4,37,609 men, 4,53,905 women, and four third-gender individuals, he noted.
“The newly published electoral rolls have also been shared with all political parties in the state,” Koyu added.
He emphasized that the primary goal of the revision was to include young voters who turned 18 by January 1, 2025, and to eliminate duplicate entries, as per Election Commission guidelines.
Meanwhile, following directions from the Election Commission of India, the Election Department, Assam, on Monday published the final photo electoral roll 2025, with the qualifying date of January 1, 2025. As per the final electoral roll 2025, the number of electors in Assam stands at 2,48,61,979.
The Election Department, Assam, had published the draft electoral roll 2025 on October 29, 2024, with a total of 2,46,28,673. The increase in voters in the final electoral roll has come to 2,33,306, which is an increase of nearly 1% over the draft roll.
Sources of the Election Department, Assam, stated that, of the total 2,48,61,979 voters, there are 1,24,17,622 men voters, 1,24,43,967 women voters, and 390 voters of the third gender. Significantly, there are more women voters than their male counterparts.
