Arunachal Pradesh reports 100 new COVID-19 positive cases

Arunachal Pradesh reported 100 new cases of COVID-19, taking the State's tally to 3,412

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh reported 100 new cases of COVID-19, taking the State's tally to 3,412. There are 899 active cases in the State at present. Meanwhile, 81 persons recovered from the disease on Tuesday taking the number of recoveries across the State so far to 2,508. The recovery rate in the State currently stands at 73.27 per cent. Five patients have died. The State has so far tested 1.49 lakh samples for COVID-19, including, 3,261 on Tuesday, informed State Surveillance Officer L Jampa.

A total of 23 cases were reported from the Capital Complex region; 16 from East Siang; 13 from Changlang; 10 from Pakke-Kessang; nine from West Kameng; seven from Upper Subansiri; four cases each from West Siang, Lower Siang and Tawang; three from Namsai; two cases each from Longding, Papumpare and Tirap; and one case from the Shi-Yomi district. Only eight of the new patients have symptoms.

Among the fresh 100 cases are 22 security personnel. Altogether 17 Army men — 15 in East Siang and two in West Siang — along with three paramilitary personnel in Lower Siang and one in Tirap tested positive for COVID-19. A policeman in Shi-Yomi district and a health worker in Tawang were also found to be COVID-positive.
