ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 55,197 after seven more persons tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here on Wednesday.

As many as 54,873 people recuperated from the disease thus far in the Northeastern state including, nine on Tuesday, the official said.

The recovery rate among Covid patients remained at 99.41 per cent while the active percentage dipped to 0.08, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The death toll in the frontier state remained at 280 as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, he said. Arunachal Pradesh currently has 44 active cases.

West Kameng recorded the highest number of active cases at 10, followed by Tawang (7), Shi-Yomi and Lower Dibang Valley districts at five cases each, the SSO said.

As many as 11,90,247 samples have been tested for Covid-19 thus far in the state, including 772 on Tuesday, Jampa said adding the positivity rate stood at 0.90 per cent.

State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 13,42,813 people have been inoculated so far in the state.
