The intricate work extends beyond adornment as it graces important structures like the boys' dormitory (paa) and village chief's house, showcasing its integral role in the fabric of Wancho life. The lively Adi Kekir ginger enhances the culinary scene of Arunachal Pradesh, earning its position as one of the treasured protected GIs. This type of ginger is grown in districts such as East Siang, Siang, and Upper Siang known for its remarkable flavor and notable size. Aside from being an impressive ingredient in cooking dishes, locals hold a sentimental attachment to this variety due to what it adds to their exceptional gastronomic identity.
The enchanting treasures from Arunachal Pradesh have become part of the colorful array of Indian products decorated with GI tags. These include Lanjia Saura paintings and Dongaria Kondh shawls from Odisha, Khajuri Guda jaggery as well as Tangail, Garad, and Korial sarees from West Bengal.
Odisha's Dhenkanal Magji milk product and Similipal Kai Chutney, renowned for its medicinal qualities, have been added to the list of awarded GI tags. The recognition also highlights the exceptional Nayagarh Kanteimundi Brinjal, contributing to a wide range of safeguarded treasures.
