Itanagar: The Narottam Nagar based Ramakrishna Mission in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math have successfully concluded their winter relief program in the remote regions of the northeastern state by distributing 500 blankets and 500 fleece jackets to those in need across Tirap and Changlang districts from December 4 to 20.
The programme reached vulnerable populations in several villages, including Moktwa 1 and Moktwa 2, Viveknagar, Mopaya, Jumdang, and 2 No. Coffee Board villages in Tirap district.
In Changlang district, the relief efforts were extended to villagers of Yanman, Makantong-1, Makantong-2, Longkey, Khimmiyong, Waphang, Thamlom, and Longsang under the Khimiyong block.
“This initiative aims to alleviate the hardships the local communities face during the harsh winter months. The distribution of warm clothing is expected to provide much-needed relief and improve the well-being of the residents in these remote and often underserved areas,” said Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary, RK Mission School, Narottam Nagar, in a statement on Saturday.
