Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society Unit Urged To Work For Women’s Welfare

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) member Hoksum Ori urged the West Siang district unit of the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) to strive and work for the cause of women of the district.

Interacting with members of the APWWS at a function at Aalo, Ori informed that more than 600 cases are pending in the commission.

Earlier, Ori was felicitated by the West Siang APWWS unit on being inducted as a member of the APSCW. She was earlier holding the post of secretary of the West Siang APWWS unit.

District APWWS president Marbom Bagra, advisor Yaken Doji Ete, and Mothers’ Vision chairperson Jumde Yomgam Gamlin were present on the occasion, and spoke about the multifarious roles of women in the society.

The West Siang Weavers’ and Handicraft Cooperative Society also felicitated Ori on her induction as a member of the APSCW at Lik Putu on Saturday.

Ori advised the weavers to maintain the traditional weaves, and stressed marketing avenues.

Later, she visited the judicial lockup and interacted with the police officers on the issue of minor rape victims in Aalo, a press release informed here on Sunday.
