ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) has claimed that the recent cabinet approval of the recruitment of youths in the Indian armed force through the 'Agnipath scheme' is a policy of the BJP government to induct Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) members, which is clear intention to rule the country and is very alarming.

Earlier today, APYC joined the rest of the country to protest against the scheme in the state by burning the effigy of PM Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Sing and Home Minister Amit Shah at the APCC party office near here.

Speaking to the reporters, APYC President Tarh Johny said that the recruitment of youths through the agnipath scheme in the Indian Armed force is to fool the youths of the country by the BJP-led central government. The actual plan of the government is to induct the RSS members into the defence line.

He said that the RSS is planning to rule the country by not only inducting their members through the scheme but providing higher ranks so that their ideology and plan to dominate the country remain intact in the defence.

"Also there is concern over the security of the state and the country. A youth after completion of four years service deprived of any job later may lead to joining into underground groups," he said, adding that the recruitment will only lead the youths of the country in the wrong directions with poorly motivated and trained military personnel, who will become risk-averse.

Johny further claimed that there is no provision for pension and ranks under the scheme. Moreover, there is no security for the youths after the completion of four years of service in any of the Indian armed forces.

He said, whenever the opposition party voices against the ruling government over their erroneous decision, it is termed political propaganda. Whereas, if we go through the depth of the scheme, the scheme is very dangerous for a democratic country like India, he added.

He also informed that the members of the APYC have been inducted and will be raising any issues hampering the state and countries' interest in days to come.

The Union Cabinet on June 14 had approved a recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces. The scheme is called Agnipath and the youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers.
