ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh established themselves as a force to be reckoned with by securing the first runners-up position at the inaugural edition of the North East Para Games, which was held in Guwahati. The para-athletes from the state showed remarkable talent and perseverance by winning an astounding 15 Gold, 21 Silver, and 17 Bronze medals.
Bringing together athletes with disabilities from all over the North East, the tournament gave them a chance to demonstrate their skills. Arunachal Pradesh's remarkable result signifies a major accomplishment in the region's sporting environment and demonstrates the growing strength of para-sports in the state.
Recently, with a five-year memorandum of agreement between the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) and JA Football Private Limited, which runs North East United FC (NEUFC), Arunachal Pradesh had taken a significant step towards growing the sports industry, particularly football.
All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey observed the signing of the deal, which was made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his role as president of the APFA and owner of NEUFC John Abraham.
The partnership aims to develop training programs, football infrastructure, and the state's youth talent. According to the Memorandum of Understanding, NEUFC will create youth academies, grassroots initiatives, and football schools in addition to scouting for outstanding players.
