Itanagar: In a proactive effort to curb the incidence of diarrhoea among children below five years, especially during the summer and monsoon seasons, the Papum Pare district administration in Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday launched the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign 2025. The campaign was inaugurated by EAC Dani Rikang.
As part of the initiative, over 5,100 children aged 0-5 years will be monitored for diarrhea-related illnesses.
The campaign ensures the availability of oral rehydration solution (ORS) and zinc tablets across all four community health centers (CHCs), 13 primary health centers (PHCs), and 27 sub-centers in the district. Alongside treatment and monitoring, the campaign places strong emphasis on preventive care through public awareness. Demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques and ORS preparation were conducted during the launch event to educate both children and caregivers on best hygiene practices.
The EAC, addressing the gathering, expressed the full support of the district administration for the campaign and called upon all stakeholders to work with dedication to enhance healthcare delivery in the region. District medical officer Dr R Rina Ronya also spoke on the importance of the campaign, underlining its goals and health impact.
