Yomgo River Festival: Arunachal Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin takes stock

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin on Thursday had a detailed discussion with West Siang DC, officials of various departments along with Aalo Town Peoples’ Welfare and Development Society (ATPWDS) at Aalo in West Siang district on the preparation of three-day Yomgo River Festival which will begin from February 1. ATPWDS is the organizing committee of the mega tourism festival, an official report informed.

The preparation work as on date were carried out by the youths on self-help basis awaiting fund allocation from the government.

The bridge connecting Yomgo River on its main venue in the right is completed. The pandal, rostrum and stage are in the completion stage and all are expected to be completed before the celebration.

DC Swetika Sachan and District Tourism Officer Rita Yorung are closely monitoring the ongoing works to make the festival a mega event in the district, the report added.
