Arunachal: Two Arrested in Major Drug Bust During Naharlagun's Operation Dawn 2.0

ITANAGAR: Naharlagun police arrested two interstate drug peddlers suspected of drug trafficking in a significant operation Dawn 2.0 on Tuesday. The operation was carried out in Borum where officers recovered approximately 7 grams of suspected heroin from the arrested individuals.

According to Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo, the police arrested them based on a tip-off received by the police. A search operation was conducted led by Officer-in-Charge of Papu Hills Police Station, Inspector T. Mai accompanied by Inspector G. Basar, Sub-Inspector P.K. Riram and Constable P. Saikia. The arrested accused persons are Diluar Hussain, 35, and Aminur Ali, 19, who are both natives of Assam and were caught while trying to sell drugs in the Itanagar Capital Region.

The operation was held in the presence of Naharlagun Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rishi Longdo, during which police recovered five vials of the suspected heroin. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered after the arrestees were brought before the Papu Hills Police Station, and investigations are underway there.

SP Gambo praised the police team for taking prompt action. He also ensured the public that the department remains committed to dealing with drug-related crimes in the area. Such an operation indicates the continuous effort of law enforcers against drug trafficking within the region. The authorities remain vigilant and take steps to secure the community for their safety and well-being.
