BORDUMSA: The 7th Convocation Ceremony of the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) was held here in a befitting manner at the Multipurpose Hall in Namsai district on Friday morning.
In all 52 gold medalists along with 2 Doctoral, 534 PG & UG were awarded at the ceremony that was adorned by scholars, academicians and learned personalities from various walks of life.
CR Khampa, the Deputy Commissioner-Namsai was the special guest of honour, the President of World Education
Mission Dr Ashwani Lochan, Managing Trustee, World Education Mission Ms Gargi Lochan, AUS Chancellor Kamal Lochan, AUS Pro-Chancellor (Academic) Dr Krishan Gopal, AUS Vice-Chancellor
Prof B Mohan Kumar and AUS Registrar Divyanshu Goel were the distinguished attendees at the convocation.
Dr Ashwani Lochan, President of World Education Mission (sponsoring body of AUS) who had come to grace the occasion also shared his vision plan for the university besides emphasizing five important pledges of the honourable Prime Minister of India wherein he had emphasized about coming out of the "servitude" mentality.
He quoted - "I am happy and very much encouraged to witness AUS making a global mark by reaching its global heights. The future vision for the university is coming up with various scholarships for the students with a determination to carry forward the Indian legacy of education by imparting education with a difference without forgetting its cultural and social status".
Meanwhile, CR Khampa, and DC Namsai, lauded AUS for being a constant force in the academic development of the region.
"I believe the students can be the brand ambassador of anti-drugs, said the top civil administration of the district, adding I sincerely thank AUS for creating ample employment opportunities in the region".
Quoting Henry Ford in his speech- "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is progress", he impressed upon the significant role of the AUS as the torch-bearer of knowledge in the region.
Ms Gargi Lochan, Trustee of World Education Mission said, "Empowering women has been the biggest motivational drive of the University. Over the years World Education Mission has funded many successful programs and ventures for such social development and will continue to do."
Dr Krishan Gopal, the Pro-Chancellor (Academic) also addressed the awardees and students highlighting the previous events of AUS's performance in the last decade as an education hub in this remote part of North East India.
Finally, the students were administered the convocation oath and all the young students took the pledge to take the country forward with their services for the noble cause of nation-building.
