PASIGHAT: To mark World Poetry Day, the Department of Hindi and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jawaharlal Nehru College, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) East Siang Branch and Bodum Collective, organized a vibrant poetry reading session. The event featured over 30 students from various departments, who showcased their literary talents by reciting both original and classic poems in Hindi and English.
Faculty members, including Dr. K.K. Mishra (Associate Professor, Geography), Dr. Abani Doley (Assistant Professor, English), and Dr. Terbi Loyi (Assistant Professor, Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat), also contributed their poetic works.
Renowned Adi poet Kaling Borang, Advisor of APLS East Siang Branch, and Otul Jerang, Sectoral Secretary, enriched the session with poetry readings in the Adi language, highlighting the region’s rich literary heritage. APLS East Siang Branch President Ponung Ering Angu welcomed the gathering and underscored the significance of World Poetry Day in preserving and promoting poetic expression.
