BORDUMSA : 'I thank and congratulation country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi for achieving the landmark of crossing the 100 crores of COVID 19 vaccinations across the nation under his stalwart leadership and guidance ', said Chowna Mein the Deputy Chief Minister DCM) of Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr Mein was congratulating the doctors, nurses and front line workers during a programme organized at Namsai District Hospital to mark the occasion on Thursday here. The DCM also felicitated all the hospital staffs and acknowledged the yomen services rendered by them despite physical impediments and topographical challenges .

Recalling the horrific sense of bewilderment and fear that had initially gripped the people across the globe at the outbreak of the first wave of COVID 19 pendamic, Mr Mein thanked the Nation's Prime Minister Narendra Modi for for his able leadership who provided all possible support services to Arunachal Pradesh along with the rest.

'Achieving 100 crore benchmark in just 9 months since the beginning of the drive amidst various odds and unfavourable conditions is not as easy as we think ', said the seniormost leader of the state adding ' the doctors, nurses, transporters and sanitarian workers have simply made it '.

Namsai has achieved an average 97 percent of vaccination target while the state average is 77 percent.

Lauding the collective efforts of the district hospital Namsai team lead by DMO NS Namchoom for their contributions on crossing the milestones ,Mr Mein also congratulated all the state's health care workers includung doctors and nurses etc for their undoubtful and relentless efforts.

'I express my gratitude to doctors, nurses of Arunachal Pradesh and all those who worked on crossing the milestone' added Mr Mein.

'I beg your apology, I had to be tougher with you ,might went rude at sometime during the vaccination drive's, said RK Sharma the DC Namsai adding ' it was perhaps the need of the hours which demanded each of us to prove our sincerity and dedication towards realisation of the end ,and you all did it finally '.

Assuring all possible infrastructural and logistic supports to the district hospital, Mr Mein expects the hospital would ensure the best health care for the people in the area. 'I would also see to it if a medical college can be set up in Namsai to serve people covering several districts', said Mr Mein who also hold finance and planning portfolios of the state.

According to him, Namsai is one of the fastest growing cities all must work together to make it model district in all aspects.

'I have emotional bonding with this hospital, it had once provided me two days of shelter while I along with my sister were rendered homeless after a storm wrecked our kacha house', said the deputy Chief Minister. What tested Mr Mein on Thursday of his social responsibility and personal obligation is the fact that he attended the event congratulating PM Modi, the chief Minister of the State Pema Khandu and the people of the state for scripting the history of 100 crore vaccinations while the corpse (deadbody ) of his sister was being brought to home town Namsai from Itanagar. She breathed her last at around 6.30 on Thursday -the day when India scripted history.
