Arunachal’s maiden e-Hospital dedicated to people
Itanagar, May 22: The first ever e-Hospital of the state was inaugurated at Itafort urban primary health center (UPHC) here on Monday by Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan in the presence of State Informatics Officer Saibal Sarkar, Director of Health Services (DHS) Dr M Lego and other officials of the health department.
The DC informed that the project has been implemented in collaboration with NIC and departments of Health besides Information Technology and Communication.
Dgawan hoped that with the launch of the e-hospital, there would be transparency and accountability in the way the hospital management works.
He also informed that the e-hospital would enable online registration and appointment and will provide patient centric services like viewing Lab reports, status etc. Moreover, all the details of the patients would be available in the website thereby reducing the burden of carrying huge piles of report with them if they go out to other hospitals.
The DC added that the functioning of e-hospital involves various stakeholders like NIC and IT&C for ICT infrastructure and Health for logistic and manpower and hence, it is a collaborative effort and sought cooperation of them for the success of the project. He called upon all doctors and staff of Itafort to adopt work culture in e-hospital as unless and until the system is adopted by the working staff, it would be hard to enforce the same on others. He also exhorted them to be a role model for other hospitals in the State.
Further, the DC informed that as per the budget announcement this year, the project will be carried out in a mission mode for roll out in six district headquarters namely Bomdila, Aalo, Tawang, Pasighat, Tezu and Ziro.
