ZIRO: Member of Parliament and BJP national general secretary (in charge) of Arunachal Pradesh, Dilip Saikia on Wednesday appealed to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to continue their peaceful relationships.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the BJP mandal meeting at the BJP office here, Saikia said that the peaceful co-existence between the two States is due to historical, political, social and cultural relationships.

Saikia said that though there were problems between the States regarding the boundary yet each time, the issue was solved amicably. "Though we may have differences of opinion yet every problem should be resolved by understanding and talks," he said, adding that he has been given the responsibility to take care of party activity of Arunachal Pradesh.

He informed that on Tuesday, he attended the meeting of BJP Core group at Itanagar and also the BJP legislature meeting and discussed various issues of the party.

"Today I attended several rounds of meetings in Ziro with party leaders and discussed various party activities on the recently concluded local-body polls in the district," he said.

During the meeting, Saikia advised the party leaders and workers to carry forward the party activities in an effective manner in the State.

He also suggested creating awareness of the Centrally sponsored schemes for the welfare of the masses so as the general masses get benefits of the schemes.

"Our target is to give good governance to the people of the State. We will work for the budding entrepreneurs, horticulturists, agriculturist and developmental growth index in the State," he added.

Among the others, Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, BJP State president Biyuram Wahge, Lower Subansiri district BJP president Likha Togu, and Yachuli Mandal president were present on the day.
