AWA felicitates 13 national weightlifting referees in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: All the 13 national referees (category-II), who qualified for the examinations, were felicitated during the first Arunachal Pradesh School Weightlifting Championship-2022 for under-14 and under-17 (boys and girls). The event was organized by Arunachal Weightlifting Association (AWA), at Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) on Saturday.

The examinations were conducted here, recently by Indian Weightlifting Federation vice president Abraham K Techi, who is also an international referee. "This has swelled the number of state's national referees (category-II) to 18 while Biku Sarita is the lone national referee (category-I)," Techi, also AWA president, informed on Sunday.

He added that two weightlifters of Sikkim have also appeared in the examination.
