Awareness programme on child protection conducted in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: The District Child Protection Unit and Child Helpline, Roing, conducted an awareness programme on child protection, child-related rights, and legal provisions at St. Patrick School and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Dambuk, on Wednesday. Altogether, 169 children and 19 teachers participated in the programmes.

During the programme, the children were highlighted on early child marriage, the POCSO Act, illegal adoption, child labour, reporting missing children, safe touch, and unsafe touch. The team also had interaction sessions with the school children and distributed pamphlets on various child-related provisions.

The children were informed about 1098 (CHILDLINE) and 6909508596 and advised to report if they hear, listen to, or see any case of child abuse or trouble.
