ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Friday appreciated the alertness and élan of the Army troops under the 4 Corps deployed on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) along the Indo-China border in Western parts of the State.

During a meeting with Tezpur-based 4 Corps General Officer Commanding (GoC) Lt General Dinesh Singh Rana at the Raj Bhawan here, Mishra expressed confidence in the security preparedness of the troops and complimented their resolve for maintaining peace and tranquility on LAC.

The GoC, who took over the charge of Gajraj Corps recently, called on the Governor and Chief Minister Pema Khandu during the day

The Governor and the GoC discussed about national security, civil military relationships and recruitment of local youth in the Indian Army, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed here.

Mishra suggested that the GoC should direct his formations and units to conduct pre-recruitment camps for the local youths. He advised for more awareness and motivational camps for the recruitment of local youth in different parts of the State, while reiterating that home-grown soldiers would be the best defenders of the safety and security of the State and the nation.

The Governor emphasized on good civil-military relationships for strengthening the border areas and further stressed on goodwill civic actions by the armed forces in the remote rural and far-flung areas of the State.

Lt General Rana assured of his best cooperation to continue the existing excellent civil military relationship in Arunachal Pradesh.

The GoC, during the call on Khandu, discussed about development of tourism and infrastructure along the international borders in the State.
