Beneficiaries receive fixed deposit certificates

Itanagar: Altogether eighteen beneficiaries on Wednesday received fixed deposit certificates (FDC) under the Dulari Kanya Yojana from East Siang District Medical Officer, Dr Kaling Dai in a function held at his office chamber.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dai informed that as per the scheme, the government would deposit Rs 20,000 in the name of a girl child born in any government hospital and the amount would be paid along with the accrued interest after the girl child attains 18 years of age.

“Such financial assistance to the girl child will provide a secured future,” he said adding, it would also encourage the families to have a girl child.

District Reproductive and Child Health Officer (DRCHO) Dr T Gao and District Ante-Natal Officer (DANO) Dr N Ratan were also present on the occasion, an official release informed.
