SEPPA: Minister Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung along with MLA Tapuk Taku flagged off a bike rally organized by the BJP East Kameng District unit taking forward the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign with the theme 'Har Dil pe Tiranga' here on Thursday.
The rally was a part of the Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav campaign, wherein thousands of people participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Natung highlighted the prime objective of the Har Ghar Tiranga-har dil me tiranga campaign and also spoke on the importance of the National Flag. He said the National Flag comprising the Tricolour has its own significance. While Saffron colour indicates sacrifice and strength, white and green symbolize peace, truth and growth respectively.
"As we are well aware that our country is celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav this year to commemorate the 75th years of Indian independence, the country is also organizing the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across. I would appeal to every single person to hoist the National Flag in their respective home to showcase patriotism," he said.
Natung also said that the idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of Jan Bhagidari.
"Even though the real celebration will take place from August 13-15, events as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign started on August 2 already," he added. Natung also acknowledged the contribution of the district administration and the police department in making the Nasha Mukht district an effective campaign. Meanwhile, SP Rahul Gupta briefed the endeavour made by the district police in making Drugs free East Kameng District. He said a pledge was made with the public to maintain the 'Nasha Mukth' district.
