BJP MLA Nyamar Karbak Cries Foul Over Social Media Upload

Itanagar: Lawmaker Nyamar Karbak has lodged an FIR at Itanagar police station here following circulation of a “fake document” in social media under his name.

Karbak is the BJP MLA from Liromoba Assembly constituency in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

In a complaint addressed to the officer in-charge of the police station on Sunday, Karbak said a fake document, with his forged signature, was being circulated in social media since January 26, containing defamatory and untrue facts which might create political differences between him, his political party and his superiors.

The bogus document which is in circulation in social media, particularly WhatsApp, claims that Karbak has declared his support to the Opposition party. “The document is totally unknown to me and it seems that some person(s) with vested interest are intentionally trying to tarnish my political image and create confusion in the minds of the people,” he said in the FIR. He requested the OC to take appropriate legal action as per the provisions of law to unearth the truth behind the document.

Meanwhile, the MLA has appealed the person(s) concerned behind the fake document to stay away from playing such unclean politics.
