BORDUMSA: In a significant development, Tapir Gao, State president of BJP in a letter has asked workers not to send any delegation to Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and State president for Assembly election tickets. The State Assembly polls will be held in early 2019.

According to the letter, all the district in-charge, district presidents and mandal presidents across the State have been directed to be unbiased and collect the application from the intending candidates and submit it to the State office accordingly. The announcement to this effect was made by Gao to avoid any unpleasant situation arising out of the allocation of party tickets and to ensure solidarity among all the party workers and leaders. Urging the members, workers and office bearers of the BJP across the State to maintain discipline and abide by party rules and regulations, Gao said, “No delegations from ticket seekers sent to the CM, DCM and the party president would be entertained for allotting party tickets”.

Meanwhile, responding to the queries this afternoon, Gao categorically made it clear that winnability would be the only criteria that the party high command at the State and Centre would consider along with other pre-requisite qualifications for allotting tickets to the candidates.

It is pertinent to add here that 5 BJP leaders from various location have reportedly been in the queue seeking saffron tickets for the 49th Bordumsa-Diyun seat in Changlang district of Eastern Parliamentary constituency.
