ITANAGAR: Candidates of the Assistant Engineer (AE) (Civil) examination conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on August 26 and August 27 last have demanded cancellation of the examination and speedy investigation of the paper-leakage case.
Addressing reporters at the Press Club here on Sunday, the representative of the candidates, Techi Puru informed that the aspirants demanded for cancellation of the AE (Civil) examination 2021-22 or suspension of the present APPSC chairman and secretary if the examination cannot be cancelled.
He also demanded a speedy probe by the police in order to re-conduct the examination at the earliest and to reveal the names of culprit in public domain.
Further, Puru informed that there is conflict between the preliminary and main examination candidates regarding re-conduct of the examination, for which he blamed APPSC for a mistake and then trying to create chaos among students.
"Re-conduct of examination, whether it is prelims or mains, should be decided as per the police investigation. Therefore, we urge for fast-track investigation", Puru said
"How can you demand for re-conduct of prelims or mains examination without the arrest of culprits?" Puru asked. He appealed to all aspirants and organizations showing an interest in the issue not to mislead/misguide the students.
"The commission needs to filter its officers", said Puru while claiming 'multi-crore-rupee racket' run by some high-profile APPSC officers. He also appealed to all aspirants to fight together against the commission and not to get divided. "Let us trust the investigation team and allow it to decide on the re-conduct of examination as per facts and findings," he said.
The core-commitee of aspirants will be conducting its own investigation alongside the police investigation as they no longer trust the commission, Puru said.
The aspirants have approached the students' organization bodies, AAPSU and ANSU, to which they have assured to pursue the issue with the State Government, informed Puru.
On September 23 next, a peaceful rally will be conducted from Akashdeep to the tennis court, IG Park, Itanagar, he added, while appealing to all APPSC aspirants to join in the rally.
Earlier, on August 29, a case u/s 120-B/420/406/409 was registered at the Itanagar Police Station by a candidate in connection to the leakage of question paper prior to the examination for the posts of AE (Civil) conducted by APPSC.
