Capital Police nab cab driver for threatening passengers, Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Capital Police led by SP Harsh Vardhan proved its alertness by arresting accused driver Nilu Singh from Harmuty area absconding since last many days.

Police is very serious about the safety of women passengers in cabs and have been consistently pursuing a case, the SP informed, adding a police team led by Itanagar SDPO Kamdam Sikom, including SI N Nishant and constables achieved the success.

It may be recalled that three women had hired a cab on August 11 last to travel from Itanagar to Guwahati Airport when the driver of the silver colour Innova car bearing number AS 01 AH 893 had allegedly threatened them with rape and murder. The trio had filed an FIR at Itanagar police station.
