Cash for Job Scam: FIR Filed by Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso for Defaming His Name on Social Media

Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, for being falsely convicting him in the cash for job scam in the Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC), has lodged an FIR with the Capital Police against one Mr. Tenzing Norbu. According to Kaso, Nobu had spread a false allegation on the social media that Kaso and Land Management Minister Nabam Rebia are the masterminds behind the cash-for-job scam in the IMC.
Upset and furious of the false rumours spread on the social media, the Itanagar MLA challenged the legitimacy of Norbu’s allegation and stated that everyone is aware that the IMC jobs scam (involving 170 jobs) is under investigation by the SIC.
According to Kaso, the false allegation has gone viral over the social media and this has contributed a lot in defaming his name and character. He urged the investigation agency to take acute action and book Norbu under the Indian cybercrime laws for mishandling the social media.
Stating his point of view, Kaso said, “I have nothing to do with the job appointments though I was the parliamentary secretary of UD at that time because job-related files do not reach my office. Even I was not aware of such activities. The viral post in social media has defamed me and my creditability towards the hard-earned reputation that I have earned.”
He further added that he will have patience and wait for the law to take its own course of action and such person should be penalized as such activities are not expectable in the society.
Kaso also claimed that it was the same Facebook account holder who was also involved in posting defamatory statements against MLA Nabam Tuki when Tuki was the Chief Minister.
Kaso handed over the FIR to the OC Itanagar in presence of the SP capital complex.
