The exam, which was conducted on August 26 and 27 last by the APPSC, was leaked and the police has arrested five persons so far. Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while addressing reporters at Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district on Monday after inaugurating a slew of projects, informed that the Government has decided to hand over the investigation to CBI.

"The APPSC is considered as the highest recruitment institution of the State and such kind of corruption in the recruitment process will not be tolerated," the Chief Minister said.

Khandu said the recent paper leakage issue has already created a negative impression among the aspirants on the APPSC and the Government.

"All officers involved in corruption will not be spared under any circumstances, so that no one can dare to repeat the same mistake whether it is in Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) or APPSC," Khandu asserted.

The Chief Minister added that the State Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine the Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) of the APPSC, whose report would be submitted within two weeks. "To determine any flaws in the system, the APPSC had also constituted two internal audit committees to examine the issue of paper leakage of prelims and main AE (Civil) examinations, which the State Government will thoroughly examine," the Chief Minister said. Earlier, the capital police arrested five persons in connection with the paper leakage issue, including the deputy secretary cum deputy controller examination of the Commission Taket Jerang, Dilip Saha, Akhilesh Yadav, Tama Saroh, Tanyang Gaduk and Thomas Gaduk.

The commission had also debarred Thomas Gaduk from all examinations being conducted by the commission till disposal of the case by the court.
