ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the daylong State executive meeting of the BJP at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram, Jullang here on Tuesday.

It is the first state executive of the party post-general election and the seventh in general.

Addressing party workers, ministers and MLAs, Khandu credited the victory of the party in the State to the hard work of the party workers. He said that after the victory with full majority in the State, it’s now time for payback in terms of development. He asked party members to work as a team to bring prosperity to the people and keep up the spirit of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. Khandu stressed on the very need of a separate administrative cadre in the State for continuous development and administration.

He proposed for separate IAS and IPS cadres for the State. Accordingly the house unanimously adopted the resolution moved by the Chief Minister and proposes to appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the same.

On the sideline, Khandu also assured the people of the State not to have any apprehensions regarding CAB as it will ‘not impinge on indigenous tribal rights in any way’.

Arunachal Pradesh East constituency legislator and BJP State president Tapir Gao also made a clear point that without the dedicated party workers working at the grassroots level, winning the election with full majority was impossible.

He also asked the BJP party candidates who lost in the election to be strong and work hard so that in next tenure they can win too.
