ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday announced that an inquiry commission will be set up to investigate the alleged job scam in the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB).

In a meeting with a citizen’s group fighting for justice and reformation in APSSB, Khandu informed that the commission will investigate for any irregularities in following the standard operating procedure while conducting the recent LDC and JSA combined recruitment examination.

“If any lapses are found, the higher officers responsible for such incompliance will be liable for immediate administrative actions,” Khandu said emphatically.

The Chief Minister informed that the inquiry commission will have terms of reference for the probe and will be asked to submit their findings within a few weeks.

On account of APSSB facing an allegation of job scams, the Chief Minister said that the recently conducted exams for recruitment for LDC and JSA will have to be canceled.

Khandu informed that reports are being sought on a daily basis on the findings of the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) on the alleged job scam. He said since the matter is serious, all political parties in unanimity sought stringent punishment for the culprits involved during a recent all-party meeting.

He called upon the citizen's groups to actively work with the APSSB to point out any loopholes and suggest changes for a robust and fair selection process in the jobs recruitment exam. The Chief Minister said that the government’s intention is clear and it is to cleanse the system, adding that “else there is no meaning in occupying the chair”, an official communiqué informed here.
