CM Pema Khandu appoints 22 MLAs as Advisors to Ministers

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government has appointed 22 MLAs as Advisors to Ministers under Clause 3 of the guidelines for appointment of Advisors to the Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh for Public Service, 2020 rule.

The Advisors shall assist the Ministers and the government in expediting its functioning and monitoring the ongoing projects, an official order issued here, informed.

The appointment orders to the MLAs as Advisors were handed over by Chief Minister Pema Khandu at a small function in his office on Wednesday.

"The appointments have no financial implication whatsoever to the State exchequer," Khandu said, adding that they shall not be entitled to any emoluments, remuneration, perks and facilities.

The Chief Minister further said that the appointments were necessitated to instill the sense of responsibility among the elected representatives and uphold the spirit of teamwork so that work culture improves in the government sector and the works undertaken are expedited and completed timely.

Besides, the State government appointed the Chairman of the 'Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board' (APBOCWB) and also the Chairman of 'Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency' (APEDA) during the day.

Among the MLAs appointed as Advisors are Jambey Tashi (Planning & Investment and Rural Works Department); Tsering Tashi (Mines, Skill development and Entrepreneurship); Phurpa Tsering (PWD-North West Zone, Western Zone and Central Zone-A); Kumsi Sidisow (Environment & Forest); Goruk Pordung (Health & Family Welfare); Tana Hali Tara (Veterinary, Animal Husbandry and Diary Development); Balo Raja (Power and Hydro Power); Lokam Tassar (PHE & Water Supply); and Taniya Soki (Civil supplies and consumer affairs); Rode Bui (Industries); Nyamar Karbak (Home); Kento Jini (Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs); Kento Rina (Education); Kaling Moyong (Urban Development); Gum Tayeng Riral Development and Panchayati Raj); Desanglu Pul (Social Welfare, Women and Child Development); Jummom Ete Deori (Land Management); Laisam Simai (Tourism and IPR); Phosum Khimhun (PWD Eastern Zone, Highways and Central Zone –B); Wanglam Sawin (Water Resources); GD Wangsu (Horticulture and Agriculture); and Tanpho Wangnaw (Disaster Management) respectively.
