
ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with Social Justice, Empowerment, and Tribal Affairs (SJETA) and Sports Minister Kento Jini, inaugurated the Arunachal Vikash Parishad Bhawan (Abo Tani Balwadi-cum-Multipurpose Activities Centre) in Itanagar on December 12.
The newly constructed facility will serve as a hub for the promotion and preservation of Arunachal Pradesh's indigenous culture, traditions, and values. It will host cultural events, educational programs, and community-building activities, aimed at strengthening the state’s rich cultural heritage.
In his address, CM Khandu underscored the significance of protecting the diverse religious and cultural traditions of India, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, and indigenous beliefs. He stressed, “It is our collective responsibility, regardless of the religion we follow, to protect and uphold the sacred traditions that have emerged from our land.”
Several dignitaries, including Advisor to Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Somayajulu, Arunachal Vikash Parishad Founder Member Tai Tagak, AVP President Techi Gubin, and AVP General Secretary Gomar Angu, attended the inauguration ceremony.
The project, funded by SJETA, emphasizes the government’s focus on empowering tribal communities and fostering socio-cultural progress.
Minister Kento Jini expressed gratitude to the Akhil Bharatiya Parishad for their unwavering support, acknowledging their role in bringing this vision to life.
Chief Minister Khandu lauded the Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP), a sister organization of Akhil Bharatiya Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, for its contributions to preserving Arunachal’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.
