Itanagar: The nagging traffic snarl in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar has been eased with the inauguration of the 16 metre RCC bridge over Yagamso stream at F Sector here by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday.

Khandu accompanied by local MLA Techi Kaso after inaugurating the vital bridge said that the bridge came as a huge relief in easing traffic congestion in the State capital.

He said the bridge would ease traffic congestion on NH-415 between RK Mission Hospital to Bank Tinali with alternate route opening of the southern ring road traffic from RKM hospital to Zero Point.

The Chief Minister appreciated the State PWD for completing the work two months ahead from the targeted date of completion.

Khandu said in the coming days to ease traffic congestion, alternate route through ESS Sector would also be opened by March 2020. The traffic along that route had been shut due to the landslide on which work has already been started, informed the Chief Minister.

He further informed that Rs 100 crore has been placed for improvement of all sectorial roads in the State capital region.

“Within five years, all the internal roads in the administrative headquarters across the State will also be improved,” he said.

Pema Khandu added that road communication is always a priority for State Government and work is going on full swing despite only few months of working season available due to monsoon.
