CM Pema Khandu urged Union Minister To Speed Up Airport Work

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday called on Union Minister of State (Independent) for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri and congratulated him on assuming the office. Khandu apprised the Union Minister on the progress of land acquisition with regard to the construction of the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi, Itanagar and requested for expeditious completion of the project through a Project Monitoring Committee to be constituted under the chairmanship of union secretary of civil Aviation with Chief Secretary of the State as one of the members.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu also requested the Union Minister for early start of commercial flight services for Tezu Airport constructed by the Airports Authority of India.

Also requesting for helicopter services under regional connectivity scheme (RCS) to be made operational, Pema Khandu said the selected operators under UDAN are yet to start the actual operation in Arunachal and requested for intervention so that heliports under RCS becomes operational.
