ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on Tuesday directed the company, constructing the 4-lane Itanagar to Banderdewa section (Package- A) of NH-415 to not extend the target of completion of the project further.

Taking stock of the present status of the ongoing construction works of various projects like the underpass, culverts, first bridge at Chandranagar, second bridge near DC office entrance along the stretch of the highway, Kumar while chairing the 15th project review meeting here, asked the T K Engineering and Consotorium Pvt Ltd to not push the target of completion of the works further.

The target for completion of the underpass at Bank Tinali has been fixed on or before August 15 next. Similarly the targets for completion of crash barriers; culverts, culvert outlets and closing of unauthorised divider openings have been set on July 15 and 31 respectively. The Chief Secretary directed the company to take serious note and put every possible effort in order to complete the works on the scheduled targets, informed an official communiqué here.

Reiterating that there are already many delays especially in the case of completion of the underpass, kumar told the company officials to put extra man and machinaries if required.

During the meeting it was decided to hand over the Package B of the highway (from Papu Nallah to Nirjuli) and Package C (from Nirjuli to Banderdewa) to the state PWD's highway division at the earliest after completion of all the codal formalities by the Capital district administration.

The Chief Secretary further directed the Highway Monitoring Team to give regular updates on the progress of the underpass and other works.

Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, Commissioner to chief minister Sonam Chombey, Capital Talo Potom, Chief Engineer (Highway) Kuru Sera, representatives from TK Engineering and Consortium and others were present in the meeting, the communiqué added.
