Construction Company Show Caused in Bordumsa

BORDUMSA: Exercising the power conferred upon the Additional District Magistrate Bordumsa under Section 133 of Code of Criminal Procedure, Dr. Deynash Yadav who is the ADC of Bordumsa vide order No BSA-9/20172019 - 3925-28 has show caused and summoned M/s Puna Hinda Construction Company for allegedly not repairing and maintaining the PMJSY road from Modoimukh ghat road to Dirak Pather village of Bordumsa circle in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh. According to the copy of the order issued under Section 133 Crpc, the said company was allowed to ply vehicles for lifting minor minerals from the said source area to the construction sites through Dirak pather village on the strength of a formal assurance to the competent authority on January 22, 2016 promising of repairing and maintaining the said government rural road, if damaged. Meanwhile, Nongkhum Moko the village headman of the village concerned along with two others alleged that the company has infringed the formal assurance and did not mend the road at all which is in the dilapidated state causing untold miseries to the people of the village.

It is pertinent to add here that the said company during the construction of the 25 kms-long Trans-Arunachal Highway stretching between Mahadevpur to Magantong (Buridehing sub Division) area had extracted and transported the required raw materials and transported to various construction sites through Dirak Village plying heavy vehicles on the said route. The road thus damaged during the course of the to-and-fro movements is yet to be repaired through the work was complete several months back.

The letter further quotes that as per the brief of the Junior Engineer, Rural Works Department Bordumsa on PMJSY submitted on January 15, 2019 vide letter RWS/BSA/G-1/18-19/01, the heavy loaded trucks using the said road with vehicles damaging the road and that the road would be repaired with WBM layer of grading 3 and bituminous layer.

Furthermore, the authority besides summoning the said company also show cause as to why the road construction types of machinery and vehicles shouldn’t be removed from the riverine sites.

According to the residents of the Dirak village located near the said river bank, several complaints were also lodged earlier to competent authority stating the plight of the people during the rainy seasons due to the haphazard and unscientific mode of extraction of minor minerals resulting in the artificial flood in the village.
