ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Contractor's Welfare Association (AACWA) Wednesday urged the state government to make ready the bypass road from Papunalah to Nirjuli before executing construction of package-B of the NH-415 from Papunallah to Banderdewa.

Pointing out at the delay in completion of the bridge at Lekhi being undertaken by the Railways, the AACWA requested the government to pressurised the Railway Ministry for immediate completion of the said bridge for the benefit of the commuters.

"The government should construct a steel bailey bridge over Pachin River near of D-Sector Naharlagun to connect Pachin, Naharlagun and Papunalah to avoid the traffic congestion during construction of the highway.

The contractors' body questioned the government over utilization of crore of fund under Itanagar Smart City mission saying that no visible development was seen in the state capital except for a few vested interests.

"Many urban areas in the state capital are lacking in proper drainage, road infrastructure, electricity even as fund were sanctioned for development of urban areas under Itanagar assembly constituency," it alleged.

The AACWA asked the state Urban Development and Housing Minister to visit the twin capital cities to know about the situation.

It also requested Chief Minister Pema Khandu to instruct the minister to take up development activities equally to all parts of state, a communiqué informed here.
