ITANAGAR: Single-day recoveries continued to outnumber fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh as 324 more people recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours, while 129 new infections were reported, a Health Department official said on Monday.

The fresh cases pushed the virus tally in the State to 62,082, he said.

Altogether 58,848 people have recovered from the disease so far, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients marginally improved to 94.97 from the previous day's rate of 94.46 per cent, he said.

The death toll in the State remained at 286 as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, the SSO said.

Among others, the 129 new cases included 66 in the Capital Complex Region, 13 in Lohit and 10 in Papumpare.

Among the new cases, 107 were detected through rapid antigen test, 19 through RT-PCR process and three through TrueNAT methods, Jampa said, adding that 69 of them have developed COVID-19 symptoms.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 2,948 active cases. The Capital Complex Region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 1,228, followed by Lower Subansiri at 198, West Kameng at 158, Papumpare at 148 and Namsai at 140.
