Deal With Forest Fire Effectively: Lumla Lawmaker Jambey Tashi

Itanagar: Lumla lawmaker Jambey Tashi on Thursday exhorted the government officials to take extra care in order to prevent the menace of forest fire being occurred frequently in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Chairing a developmental meeting at Tawang with the head of departments and public leaders of Lumla sub-division, Tashi said, “every year there are incidents of forest fire in Lumla area for which the forest department should take serious note of it and initiate action against those involved.

He further asked the officers to implement ‘no pay for no work’ and all the work departments should activate their manpower and use them for developmental activity, an official communique informed.

Tashi also asked the officers of agriculture and horticulture departments to convince the farmers to revive agricultural activities saying that there is huge scope for agriculture and horticulture in some of the villages in the sub division, for which he assured all possible help for the farmers from his own resources.

Discussing about the increasing dog menace at Lumla, he directed the veterinary department to take up immediate action with regard to animal birth control and anti rabies vaccination programme for which he placed the required fund to additional deputy commissioner of Lumla.

Discussions were also held on various schemes like RURBAN and others under rural development department, the communique said.

Showing his concern over dismal education scenario in his constituency, the MLA said that non performing teachers and staff would not be spared.

“Though we are in shortage of teachers but this will be sorted out soon,” he assured and asked the public leaders to ensure increased enrollment in government schools.

The heads of various departments presented information on ongoing works under their department and its progress, the communique added.
