ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Indigenous Students Union (AISU) conducted a peaceful rally from Ganga Market to IG Park here on Friday demanding immediate deportation of all Chakma-Hajong, Rohingyas and Tibetan refugees from the Arunachal Pradesh.

The AISU demanded that the State Government and the Home department in specific, continue with strict Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking at all the check gates bordering the State. The influx of refugees and illegal immigrant workers is high in numbers and many have settled in the State for many decades, the union stated.

The union further added that, if these issues are not been checked in time, the indigenous people of the State will have to face its negative impact in the future.

The AISU also added that, besides the demand of the deportation of the refugees, the union also demands immediate installation of biometric attendance system in all government schools, renaming of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) to Arunachal University and Indira Gandhi Park to Abo Tani Park.
