DEO holds meeting on electoral rolls

ITANAGAR, Aug 29: A meeting of ERO's/AERO's and representatives of various political parties on Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls was held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer, Upper Subansiri District, Danish Ashraf at his office chamber on Wednesday. Danish Ashraf requested 49 all ERO's/AERO's to take the election related works seriously and complete it as per schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India. He briefed on the role of BLOs and apprised the representative of Political Parties to appoint Booth Level Agent (BLAs) to assist BLOs during filling of Claims and Objections in the revision process. A discussion was also made on ERONet during the meeting.

EAC (Eltn) Daporijo HQ Tage Tatung highlighted the various stages of Revision programme as fixed by the Election Commission of India and directed the ER0s/AEROs to carry out the Revision activities in a time bound manner.

He also highlights that Election Commission Of India (ECI), has launched National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) wherein all electoral registration, correction and deletion applications can be made online and asked the ERO's/AERO's to encourage the electors to, avail this facility for submission of forms online.

He emphasized on complete enrolment of young eligible voters who would be attaining the age of 18 years as on 10 January 2019 and also the verification and deletion of dead and shifted voters from the electoral roll to maintain the purity and error free electoral rolls.
