Development depends upon people’s outlook: Mishra

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Wednesday advised the people, government officials, gaon-burahs of the newly created Pakke Kessang district to ensure that all the infrastructure development projects are implemented with proper planning, transparency and honesty.

Addressing a public rally in his maiden visit to the district, the Governor called upon the stakeholders to ensure cent per cent utilization of funds provided by the government, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed. “The stakeholders must be prepared for audit and review and wherever required there must be mid-course correction,” the Governor said. With the visit to Pakke Kessang, Dr Mishra has toured all the 25 districts of the State.

The Governor congratulated the people of the district and expressed his hope that it would facilitate in bringing effective administration and development in the area.

Impressed by the scenic beauty of Pakke Kessang, Dr Mishra said nature has bestowed the people of the area with huge natural resources and they must harness it with their hard work in a dedicated and judicious manner. He said that the pace of development depends upon the people and their approach and outlook and that is where the collective effort of the people matter for success.

Dr Mishra called upon the people to avail maximum benefit from welfare schemes and programmes of the State and Central Governments. He also urged the district administration, government officials and gaonburahs to motivate and select eligible youths for recruitment in the Indian Armed Forces and State police.

Responding to a memorandum submitted by the people, the Governor said road, rail, air, mobile and internet connectivity are the basic ingredients for bringing development in any part of the world. He assured the people to look into the issues to help resolve them, the communiqué added.
