District Electoral Officer briefs political parties on parliamentary, Assembly polls

Itanagar: Briefing to the political parties for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections 2019 in Arunachal Pradesh was convened at Tawang district DC office on Tuesday by circle officer (Election) Tashi Wangchu Thongdok.

Thongdok briefed the political party representatives about the conduct of election, the new facilities introduced by Election Commission of India (ECI) like Suvidha, cVigil and 1950, a 24X7 telephone service for complaint related to election matters, an official communiqué informed. District Electoral Officer (DEO) Sang Phuntsok also discussed about new facilities of the ECI and appealed to all the political party representatives to maintain peace during and after election.

“The candidates of various political parties are not enemy of each other. It is just a process of democracy to choose the best among them. I request all the political parties representatives to cooperate with us in conducting the elections free and fairly,” the DEO said and exuded hope that there would not be any violence during the polls. Other senior officers of the district also spoke on the occasion, the communiqué added.
