District level football and volleyball meet begins in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh

LONGDING, July 20: The district level football and volleyball tournament under the theme Unity For Development was kicked off with lots of fanfare here on Friday. The tournament which is being organized by Longding District Student Union (LDSU) has as many as 29 teams in football and 21 teams in volleyball which is a record participation in the history of Longding. Impressed by the overall arrangement of the program, the DC Longding Anu Mallik appreciated the members of LDSU and congratulated them for the success of the program.

The DC in his brief speech offered his tribute to late Pongsa Saham and said that LDSU has done a great job by organising such a grand program of football and volleyball tournament in memory of the much acclaimed student leader, who was recognized even at state level. DC Mallik also promised to sponsor the top twenty five players to be chosen from this tournament by DSO Ahua wangsu, for six month football and volleyball coaching.
