ITANAGAR: The Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) to mark May Day and the 8th death anniversary of Dorjee Khandu organized a felicitation programme for workers here on Wednesday. Father Cyriac, Director of DBYC, explained the twin reasons for the programme – paying homage to Dorjee Khandu and to honour the workforce of Don Bosco and private institutions of the Capital Complex. “Dorjee Khanduji was the person who laid the foundation stone for DBYC in 2009 and on this day, we would like to pay homage to him and also honour the staff who are the real backbone of our institutions”, said Father Cyriac.

Earlier, while giving the introductory speech, Father CC Jose, Director of Don Bosco College, highlighted the importance of the day and spoke of the way in which Dorjee Khandu contributed to the growth of DBYC and how his leadership has taken the State on the path of progress. He also congratulated the workers present and thanked them for the hard work.

The Chief Guest of the function, Yumlam Kaha, Director of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, complimented DBYC for coming up with effective youth-friendly activities.
