Dr Gopa Kumaran Nair takes over as NABARD General Manager, Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Dr Gopa Kumaran Nair on Thursday took over as General Manager /Officer-in-Charge of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Itanagar.

Dr Nair, born and educated in Thiruvananthapuram, did his PhD in Economics from the University of Kerala. He has vast experience of more than two decades in agriculture and rural development related activities. He has prepared and presented various sectoral papers, research activities related to agriculture and rural development in prestigious economic journals in India. As a specialist in field-based studies, he has conducted about 90 studies many of which are pan India studies. He has contributed immensely to various committees constituted by Govt. of India, RBI and NABARD. Meanwhile, Dr Gyanendra Mani, the outgoing GM, will be joining NABARD, Head Office, Mumbai after his two years of service in Itanagar. The government of Arunachal Pradesh on its 33rd Statehood Day awarded ‘Gold Medal’ to Dr Mani for his meritorious service to the State.
