Education sector to receive top most priority: Somlung Mossang

BORDUMSA: "Keeping other developmental agenda intact, a special thurst for promoting and developing the Education sector occupies the topmost priority in my agenda for the Bordumsa-Diyun General Legislative Constituency," said chief guest Somlung Mossang during his address after unfurling the tricolour on the occasion of the country's 74th Independence Day at the Bordumsa General Playground here on Saturday morning.

Briefing the gathering on the significance of the red letter day, MLA (Independent) Mossang reiterated that the country got freedom from foreign yoke due to the immemse sacrifices of the freedom fighters and social workers of the country during the colonial regime. "As such, we must maintain the nation's integrity, homogeneity, peace and fraternity at all cost," he said.

The programme was organized in a befitting manner under the Initiative of the T Jerang, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bordumsa Sub Division in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh. Keeping in view the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic restrictions, the programme was kept short: It included the flag hosting, the keynote address by the chief guest and the rendition of two patriotic songs.

The keynote address of the MLA centered round the accomplishment of various development schemes and projects of the government beside encouraging the student community and lauding the sleepless efforts of all the dedicated COVID 19 frontline workers of the constituency. On the occasion, the chief guest also handed cash prizes to 27 students of various Secondery and Higher schools of his constituency. Similar cash incentives were also announced for all the sanitizing teams for their continuous and active support extended over a period of time to the local administration battling against the contagious virus at various locations here.
