Election training to employees in Tirap district

Itanagar: The first phase of election training to all government employees of Tirap district was imparted at Khonsa Community Hall on Tuesday.
Altogether 400 numbers of officers attended the training which included 100 presiding officers, and 300 polling officers to cover the 100 polling stations in the entire district, an official release informed.
During the training, 100 presiding officers handbooks were distributed. The second phase of the training would be conducted on February 10.
While briefing about the importance of the training, election returning officer (ERO) Hakresha Kri appealed to all the government employees to abide by ECI rules.
EVM nodal officer Nokgen Wangsu demonstrated EVM/VVPAT practically to all the employees. Wangsu said that VVPAT has been introduced for the first time in the country in addition to EVM, which he said is a sensitive electronic machine which needs proper handling.
Earlier, a video clip on function of VVPAT was displayed.
