Females outnumber male voters in Arunachal Pradesh

Female voters outnumbered males in Arunachal Pradesh with a total of 4,16,529 female electorates reported against 4.04,276 male voters, in the draft photo electoral rolls of the state.

ITANAGAR: Female voters outnumbered males in Arunachal Pradesh with a total of 4,16,529 female electorates reported against 4.04,276 male voters, in the draft photo electoral rolls of the state.

In the draft photo electoral roll published by the Chief Electoral Officer here on Wednesday, a total of 8,20,805 voters were reported across 60 Assembly constituencies of the state.

There are 12, 253 more female voters in the state, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said.

Parliamentary constituency-wise, the Arunachal West constituency, comprising 33 Assembly segments, has more voters (4,72,849) than the Arunachal East constituency (3,47,956) with 27 Assembly seats.

The Itanagar (urban) Assembly constituency has the highest number of the electorate (62,091) followed by Doimukh (22,723), while the Anini constituency under the Arunachal East Parliamentary constituency has the lowest voters with 4,207, Koyu disclosed. Doimukh being the rural constituency has the highest voters of 22,723.

Bordumsa-Diyun, the only un-reserved assembly seat in the state, has 19,756 voters to be at fourth highest placed after Itanagar, Doimukh and Pasighat East with 20,917, he said.

With the publication of the draft electoral rolls, claims and objections will be allowed till December 8, the joint CEO said, adding that the final rolls will be published on January 5, next year."
